September 1, 2010 - ViewCast Media Platform (VMp) Streamlines Video Content Distribution with New Support for Brightcove Online Video Platform

ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), a developer of industry-leading solutions for the transformation, management and delivery of digital media over enterprise, broadband, and mobile networks, today unveiled a new feature for its ViewCast Media Platform (VMp™) that will enable VMp users to automate the distribution of video content to Brightcove’s leading cloud-based, online video platform. The integration with Brightcove ensures that users can quickly and easily transfer video content from VMp to the Brightcove platform with minimal manual administration, dramatically streamlining content distribution workflows.

August 30, 2010 - VIEWCAST NAMES ADRIAN GIUHAT SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, CTO

ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), a developer of industry-leading solutions for the transformation, management and delivery of digital media over enterprise, broadband, and mobile networks, today announced that veteran digital media and information technology executive Adrian Giuhat has been named Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective September 6, 2010. He will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Stoner.

Giuhat, 50, has more than 20 years of senior management experience with a variety of technology and telecommunications companies including, most recently, Irving, TX-based Nexstar Broadcasting Group, one of the nation’s top 20 broadcasting companies. Starting in 2008, Giuhat was Senior Vice President and CTO at Nexstar and helped define the company’s digital media technology strategy. He also defined, deployed and supported the corporate IT infrastructure and data centers used for application hosting and video streaming.

“Adrian has the breadth of background, technical expertise, and strong performance record that make him a key addition to our executive team. Specifically, his background in software development and digital asset management complements our current strategic focus and gives us added applicable expertise as we continue along our technology roadmap towards more integrated hardware and software solutions ,” Stoner said. “He is customer-focused, results-oriented and well versed in digital media technology and video product development. From 2003 to 2008, Giuhat was founder and CTO of Plano, TX-based AvantGuard Technologies, a product development, data warehousing and technology company which defined, developed, and marketed web-based products used in video distribution, print advertising and pre-sales lead management. Concurrently, from 2007 to 2008 he worked in product and business development for a start-up applications and video codec technology company and from 2006 to 2007 he also co-founded and was CTO of a start-up telecom technology company. During 2000 to 2003 he served as SVP of Engineering for DG Systems (now DG FastChannel), a leader in content distribution of digital media to TV and radio stations across the US and Canada, where he was responsible for overall company technical direction, including the development of the first web-based clearance product in the advertising industry. Prior to 2000, Giuhat held senior level product development and management roles with ADC-Teledata, an Israeli telecom company, and with DSC-Alcatel USA, a multi-national telecom provider company.

Giuhat holds bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in Computer Science from the University of Bucharest and an MBA from Ottawa University.

The Niagara 4100 is compact and self-contained in an impact-resistant shell, precluding the need for a keyboard, monitor or mouse. All rear-panel connections are recessed for maximum protection, and the built-in handle ensures on-the-go portability.

Time-saving pre-processing features provided standard with the Niagara 4100 include scaling, cropping, de-interlacing, inverse telecine and closed-caption extraction and rendering capabilities. WebM gives developers the ability to innovate with and deploy high-quality video compression technology without the constraints of title-based royalty fees or other license fees. University of Michigan Expands Partnership with ViewCast

ViewCast’s New Niagara Streaming Media Appliances Set for European Debut at IBC 2009

ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), a developer of industry-leading solutions for the transformation, management and delivery of digital media over IP and mobile networks, will showcase the two newest entries in its Niagara® family of streaming media appliances next week at IBC 2009 in Amsterdam. These highly-anticipated systems – the Niagara 2120, a low-priced Adobe® Flash® H.264 appliance, and the next-generation Niagara 7500 HD appliance – are expected to achieve widespread adoption in the European market because of their innovative features and growing demand for ViewCast’s world-class streaming media technology in the region.

Europe is experiencing unprecedented growth in Internet streaming technology, voice-over-internet (VOIP), and television services through broadband lines. Continued growth is expected particularly in broadcast, telecom, education and corporate communications - all sectors in which ViewCast’s plug-and-play solutions stand out among competing products.

Both the Niagara 2120 and Niagara 7500 appliances come standard with ViewCast SimulStream® technology, which enables a single video source to generate several video streams simultaneously – in multiple resolutions and bit rates - with each stream configured differently for laptops, cell phones, or mobile devices. Stoner noted that the rapidly expanding use of streaming video in cell phones, PDAs and other mobile wireless electronic devices has created a significant market for ViewCast.

The Niagara 2120, a low-cost, easy to use streaming media appliance that supports H.264 streaming via the Adobe® Flash® platform, is designed for organizations in corporate, government, education, worship and athletic settings seeking a plug-and-play platform for streaming video content across enterprise networks or over the Internet. Optimized for simplified set-up and operation and featuring a built-in Web interface to enable streamlined management from anywhere on the network, the compact, self-contained Niagara 2120 is ideal for location streaming applications, and fits easily into any production control room. Users simply set the desired streaming parameters via the intuitive Web interface, then initiate one or more streams simultaneously from the front panel “Stream” button.

The Niagara 7500 is a powerful, feature-rich streaming appliance for Web-based delivery of high-definition video, designed for the most demanding professional broadcasting and media distribution applications. Combining dual quad core processing power with ViewCast’s advanced video processing and encoding capabilities, the Niagara 7500 simplifies the complex workflows associated with the transformation and delivery of live and on-demand HD video to IP and mobile networks, and features a sleek, innovative touch control interface with contextual menus that streamline and simplify system operations. A key feature of its video processing capability is that it can switch-on-the-fly between standard and high-definition sources, without having to re-initialize the system. Users can stream live content in multiple bit-rates and resolutions simultaneously in Windows Media®, Silverlight® and Adobe® Flash® H.264, and take advantage of powerful video pre-processing tools such as closed-caption rendering, de-interlacing, and inverse telecine.

ViewCast is also featuring a new release of its Niagara SCX® streaming media management software. Niagara SCX 6.0 enables centralized set-up, monitoring and control over multiple systems positioned anywhere on the network – all from a single desktop. The new Niagara SCX 6.0 software release also includes Adobe® Flash® H.264 streaming capability, as well as ViewCast’s Intelligent Stream Connect technology that allows multiple instances of a video stream to be connected to a single CDN to ensure continuous and fail proof operation.
