Sales Engineer - West

We currently seek a highly motivated Sales Engineer to be the technical information resource for pre-sales activities, providing the following services:

• Assist in qualifying opportunities
• Train and monitor alliance partner technical performance.
• Provide system designs and technical presentations
• Organize and manage sales demonstrations and trade shows
• Interact with sales, marketing, engineering and support
• Provide technical input on sales opportunities
• Second/third level technical support as required

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide technical advice and direction regarding the capabilities, specifications and operation of ViewCast products in meetings with prospects, clients and resellers.
• Technically qualify potential customers, and provide training, technical guidance and support during initial sales opportunities.
• Confirm the viability and correctness of configurations and proposals in cooperation with the strategic alliances manager or business development manager.
• Support selected major partners, OEMs and/or integrators to manage trial evaluation processes and assure the timely and effective evaluation, integration and acceptance of products.
• Interface with engineering and customer support organizations to report on any customer questions, problems or requests.
• Provide customer training as required.
• Perform on-site engineering assignments when needed to minimize response times and reduce costs.
• Travel as required.

Essential Requirements:

• Excellent working knowledge of hardware, software, standards, vendors, processes and challenges associated with the sale and deployment of Viewcast Products.
• Excellent working knowledge of, TCP/IP, H.264, Flash Media, Windows Media, Silverlight and other standards as they evolve.
• Excellent working knowledge of operational and logistical aspects of Content Delivery Network providers.
• Strong technical understanding of video technologies and concepts including, video standards (NTSC & PAL) media capture, codecs, compression, streaming and delivery.
• A good operational understanding of the Internet backbone network.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Self Starter.
• 10+years working in application oriented technical marketing or technical sales support role.
• Knowledge and use of streaming media technologies and standards within the Internet.

Senior Software Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the architecture, analysis, design and development of Windows-based video streaming applications. Specific responsibilities include:

• Involvement in all phases of software development of our new products and in revision of current product line
• Perform various design, development, debugging, and testing activities in coordination with other members of development team
• Development and Implementation of specific application software modules, including Web-based GUI

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with software development, with some experience in GUI layer of product development
• Product development (rather than services) experience and involvement of multiple releases of products deployed in the field
• Experience with Microsoft Dev Studio (version 2008 preferred but not required)
• Strong coding skills in C++, and C#
• Knowledge of modern Windows GUI conventions and techniques
• Experience with web development, XML, SQL, .Net 3.5, WCF, and WPF are required
• SilverLight is desired.
• Strong communication and team skills
• BS in CS, CE, EE or related degree OR equivalent years of experience
