VMp Capabilities

VMp addresses all your digital media life cycle needs - live and archieved video, and graphic and document content - no matter what your application. With the VMp Portal, Live and Production modules, VMp provides the following capabilities:

• Capture:

  Schedule and manage the capture of live video from encoders. Ingest content from creative production environments and individual workstations. Monitor file and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) servers, shared storage environments and other systems on the network. Use Web services to easily ingest content from other applications and processes.

• Transform:

  Convert between more than 100 image and document formats. Transcode to and from dozens of audio and video formats. Add watermarks and overlays. Maintain the desired digital master and ensure the proper variant is delivered, no matter the distribution channel, including mobile and set-top boxes.

• Index:

  Extract embedded metadata. Create or capture time-based metadata such as closed-caption text and annotations. Use third-party video analysis to perform speech-to-text analysis, face recognition, optical character recognition (OCR) and more. Automatically look up data from other structured data sources. Parse data from file names and folder structures.

• Manage:

  Ensure long-term security, accuracy and availability of your valuable digital media content.   Easily edit and repurpose content as end-user and distribution channel requirements dictate. Perform rough-cut editing of audio and video content. Support standard edit decision list (EDL) formats and workflows. Create custom Microsoft® Office PowerPoint presentations from existing decks.
